San Antonio Highway Crash Leaves 4 Dead, 18 Injured; Armed Suspect at Large

San Antonio crash: Dozens of people died and over a dozen were hurt when a stolen vehicle crashed into a transport bus on a San Antonio, Texas highway, police reported, as per USA Today report.

About 2 p.m. on July 17, a white Camaro that was stolen and had four occupants struck a bus with a trailer attached on South Interstate 35 in the Leon Creek area, San Antonio Police Chief Bill McManus said.

Fatalities and Injuries Confirmed by Authorities

Two were killed at the accident scene and 18 were injured, McManus said. Two others died that evening, News 4 and KSAT reported.

The Chief of Police updated about the accident on X and wrote, “Major crash with fatalities 35S over Leon Creek. Prelim info is stolen Camaro wrecked into a small bus pulling a trailer. Two deceased, 18 transported to hospitals. Age range of victims young children to seniors. Four suspects in Camaro fled scene. One was armed. Avoid area!!”

Armed Suspect Still on the Loose, Speed a Factor

McManus reported the four occupants of the stolen Camaro fled from the scene of the crash and were still being hunted for as of Thursday afternoon. He also said that one of the suspects was carrying an assault rifle. Authorities reported that the Camaro was traveling at an excessive speed when it crashed into the bus.

Bus Was En Route from Fort Worth to Mexico

According to a Facebook post by the bus company, Transportes Guerra, the bus was traveling from Fort Worth to Mexico.
