PM Modi Receives Warm Welcome in Brazil

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was warmly greeted by the Indian diaspora upon his arrival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for the G20 Leaders’ Summit. Outside Hotel Nacional, vibrant celebrations included a traditional dandiya dance performed by artists in colorful Gujarati attire and the chanting of Vedic mantras by Brazilian scholars. Members of the diaspora waved Indian flags, displayed pictures of PM Modi, and presented him with gifts as a gesture of respect.

One diaspora member expressed excitement, saying, “We wanted to meet the leader of one of the largest democracies in the world.” Another attendee shared their pride, stating, “It’s an honor to see him in person. This is a proud moment for us.”

The leaders discussed cooperation in areas such as defense, technology, health, and education, agreeing to work together on development goals for the Global South. India also announced the delivery of 20 tons of humanitarian aid to assist with Nigeria’s flood relief efforts.
