In the wake of a recent attack on Hindu devotees in Canada, journalist Daniel Bordman expressed his outrage, labeling the incident as “horrifying” and a new low for religious tolerance in the country. He noted that this attack marked the first instance of such violence occurring in broad daylight against Hindu worshippers.
Bordman condemned the police response, describing it as “disgusting” and claiming it was “utterly preventable.” He argued that the police tend to enforce laws selectively, often targeting those who are more likely to comply. “There is no part of the Canadian government that has taken their side in any of this,” he stated, highlighting a perceived lack of support for the Hindu community.
He further criticized Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, suggesting that his statements against terrorism lack genuine commitment. Bordman remarked, “We have Justin Trudeau talk the talk… but he never walks the walk.” He accused Trudeau of occasionally endorsing extremist elements while failing to take decisive action to protect the Hindu community. He concluded that until Trudeau demonstrates real change, skepticism about his statements will remain prevalent.
