‘One Tree Hill’ Actor Paul Teal Passes Away At 35 After Battling Cancer

Actor Paul Teal, widely recognized for portraying Josh Avery in Season 7 of the popular teen drama One Tree Hill, has passed away at the age of 35.

Teal’s fiancée, Emilia Torello, confirmed the heartbreaking news in an emotional social media post, revealing that the actor died on November 15 in Raleigh, North Carolina. “The most thoughtful, inspiring, driven, self-disciplined, loving man passed away,” she wrote on Instagram, sharing a touching black-and-white photo of the couple.

Emilia described Teal as her soulmate and future husband, adding, “Paul, you were my rock, my future, and my everything.” While she didn’t specify the cause of death, Emilia told TMZ that Teal had been battling Stage 4 neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer since April. He passed away just seven months after his diagnosis.

In her tribute, Emilia reflected on his strength and the love they shared. “You filled my lungs with laughter, my stomach with butterflies, and my heart with love. You were taken too soon in a battle you fought bravely. While part of me died with you, I promise to find joy in life as you fought to live every day.”

Following the news of his passing, One Tree Hill co-star Bethany Joy Lenz mourned Teal’s death, describing him as a kind and talented presence. “Paul Teal was shy, funny, and incredibly comfortable on stage. His bright smile, infectious laugh, and kind heart made everyone gravitate toward him. He was perfect for the role of Josh, bringing humor and dedication to the character,” she shared on Instagram.

Apart from his role in One Tree Hill, Teal appeared in several notable projects, including Dynasty, Fear Street Part 2: 1978, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, and Descendants: The Rise of Red. Despite his health challenges, he completed filming for the upcoming Starz series The Hunting Wives.

A celebrated stage actor as well, Teal performed leading roles in productions like Newsies, Sweeney Todd, and Rent. His passing marks a significant loss to both screen and theater.
