One such area is a neighborhood in Los Angeles near a shipping port, after Google satellite images showed the words help and traffico written on wildfire debris. Along with that, words such as LAPD and Federal are seen, which caused wild guesses on social media.
Mysterious Message Raises Alarm
The photos, taken around North Mission Road in Los Angeles, set off many speculations. Some think that maybe it’s some kids’ prank. Others are guessing it might be an actual message from someone in distress from the wildfires. A user on X posted pictures of Google Maps with an ominous possibility: “This disturbing message was viewed on Google Maps in Los Angeles, California; it says ‘Help’ and ‘Traffico’ on the debris close to shipping containers.”. It has been confirmed that the lot next to this location is a shipping yard, which has led users to fear that this is connected to human trafficking or worse.”
Los Angeles Wildfire Aftermath
Wildfires have devastated the area, among them the Palisades and Eaton fires that began January 7 amidst strong gusts. These wildfires have leveled parts of the neighborhood. The Palisades Fire is the biggest wildfire that consumed thousands of houses and claimed at least 11 lives while standing at 90% containment as of Sunday. The other, the Eaton Fire in Altadena, had already claimed 16 lives but stood at 98% containment.
The Hughes Fire, which started north of Los Angeles, has led to evacuation orders for more than 50,000 people. By Sunday evening, it had been contained to 95%. In San Diego County, the Border 2 Fire, the smaller of the two blazes, is being battled; good progress was reported in corralling its spread through the Otay Mountain Wilderness along the US-Mexico border.
Official Response Expected
The authorities have not commented on the Google satellite images, and the cryptic messages remain unexplained. For now, the combination of wildfire devastation and mysterious signals has left residents and social media users questioning the true story behind the chilling discovery.
