On Friday (Feb 7), hip hop artist Kanye West, also known as ‘Ye’, started a social media storm with several horrible antisemitic remarks. The 47-year-old rapper made startling statements, including a contentious one in which he said, “I LOVE HITLER NOW WHAT B*****S,” and surprisingly declared, “I AM A NAZI.”

West’s Comments on Antisemitism

The rapper, who had been previously charged with producing racist and antisemitic comments back in 2022, appeared to backtrack from his prior apology. Kanye West seemed to have a change of heart following a brief period of public contrition in December 2023, when he apologized to the Jewish community for his past statements. His most recent rant mentions that he will never trust or collaborate with Jewish people again and declares that he “will not be apologizing” for his ideas.

Beyond antisemitism, the rapper lashed out at several underrepresented people with insulting words. In one post he wrote, “IF I LOST EVERYTHING ‘AGAIN TONIGHT WAS WORTH IT I CAN DIE AFTER THIS,” maintaining that he was “sober” during his inflammatory social networking activity.

Attack on Elon Musk: Charges of“Nazi Swag.”

West also directed his rage at Tesla CEO Elon Musk in addition to his antisemitic speech, blaming him for “stealing” his “Nazi swag.” Following Musk’s speech at President Donald Trump’s inauguration rally, where he stated Musk had given a “Nazi salute,&t;quot; West made the allegation.

“West wrote in publishing, frankly sparking even more rage and debate: ‘Elon stole my Nazi swag at the inauguration to my guy get your third rale.

The Fallout From West’s Activities

West’s earlier antisemitic comments in 2022 had major implications, among them the loss of his Adidas and Gap partnerships for his Yeezy line. Many are demanding that authorities hold the rapper accountable after his most recent posts sparked even more scrutiny.

His most recent tantrums now seem to have eclipsed his 2023 apology, which apologized for the damage done by his words. West’s behavior still incites anger since his insensitive words result in more blowback on various social media sites.
