Vice President Kamala Harris openly criticized former President Donald Trump for his views on women’s autonomy, arguing that he doesn’t believe women should have control over their own bodies. She accused Trump of disregarding women’s freedom and their capacity to make decisions that are best for them.

Trump’s Controversial Remarks on “Protecting” Women

Trump recently made headlines during a campaign event in Wisconsin, where he pledged to “protect” women, stating, “I want to protect the people. I want to protect the women of our country. I want to protect women… I’m going to do it whether the women like it or not,” according to reports.

Harris Responds at Phoenix Rally

In response, Harris spoke out at a rally in Phoenix, Arizona. She shared her concerns on social media, writing, “Did you hear what Donald Trump said yesterday? That he will do what he wants, whether the women like it or not.” She also raised the issue of Trump’s role in the 2022 overturning of Roe v. Wade, reminding the crowd of his influence. “Now in America,” she said, “one in three women lives in a state with the Trump abortion ban… And Donald Trump is not done. Did everyone hear what he said yesterday? That he will do what he wants whether the women like it or not.”

Harris Defends Women’s Autonomy

Harris didn’t hold back in calling out Trump’s actions and comments. “He does not believe that women should have agency and authority to make decisions about their own bodies. This is the same man who said that women should be punished for their choices. He simply does not respect the freedom of women or the intelligence of women to know what’s in their own best interest and make decisions accordingly but we trust women,” she said.

Warnings About Trump’s Future Plans

Harris also expressed concerns about Trump’s potential policies if he wins office again. She warned that he would likely enforce a nationwide abortion ban, restrict access to birth control, jeopardize IVF treatments, and push for states to monitor pregnancies. “If he was elected,” Harris noted, “he has been pretty clear in his behaviour and his deeds. He will ban abortion nationwide. He will restrict access to birth control, put IVF treatments at risk and force states to monitor women’s pregnancies.”
