Israeli Airstrike Eliminates Terrorist Linked To October 7 Attack

Israeli airstrikes have targeted and eliminated a Palestinian Islamic Jihad operative involved in the October 7 attacks, as well as a Hezbollah commander in southern Lebanon, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Monday morning.

In Gaza, the Air Force killed Ahmed Al-Dalu, a member of Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s military intelligence unit, who took part in the October 7 assault on Kibbutz Kfar Aza, where at least 52 Israelis were killed. Meanwhile, IDF forces continued operations in Rafah, southern Gaza. Soldiers detected a terrorist cell within a military facility where explosives meant for attacks on Israeli forces were stored. An airstrike destroyed the site, killing the terrorists and destroying the weapons.

In Lebanon, an airstrike killed Abu Ali Rida, a Hezbollah commander responsible for orchestrating rocket and anti-tank missile attacks against Israeli troops in the Baraachit region of southern Lebanon. According to the IDF, Rida directed local Hezbollah operatives in these attacks. Israeli forces have continued operations in southern Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah infrastructure, neutralizing terrorists, seizing weapons, and dismantling positions. In one incident, a strike on a structure near the Israeli border led to multiple explosions, suggesting it was stocked with weapons.

Following the October 7 Hamas attacks, Hezbollah has fired rockets and launched drones daily at northern Israeli communities, causing more than 68,000 residents to flee their homes. Hezbollah leaders have stated that they will sustain these attacks to prevent Israeli residents from returning.

According to United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, which ended the 2006 Second Lebanon War, Hezbollah is prohibited from operating in southern Lebanon.

In the October 7 attacks by Hamas on Israeli communities near the Gaza border, at least 1,200 people were killed, and 252 Israelis and foreign nationals were taken hostage. Of the 97 hostages still held, over 30 have been declared dead. Hamas has also held two Israeli civilians captive since 2014 and 2015, along with the remains of two soldiers killed in 2014.
