The fourth edition of the India-US joint tri-service Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) exercise Tiger Triumph 2025 came to an impressive end on April 11 with a Distinguished Visitors’ Day (DV Day) at Kakinada. This grand finale showcased the strength and synergy between the two nations’ armed forces.
Thrilling Demonstrations on DV Day
Senior military leaders, including the Flag Officer Commanding Tamil Nadu & Puducherry Naval Area (FOTNA), the US Consular General, Commander of the US Navy Strike Group Five, and Deputy GOC of the 54 Infantry Division, attended the event. The audience witnessed intense and complex drills such as:
- Standoff and Hard Beaching Operations
- Slithering by Special Forces from helicopters
- Participation of C130 aircraft
- Integrated air and ground operations by the Indian and US military forces
These exercises highlighted interoperability, coordination, and joint combat readiness between the two nations.
From the Harbour to the High Seas
Tiger Triumph 2025 was held from April 1 to 11 in two major phases:
- Harbour Phase (April 1–7) – Visakhapatnam:
This included Pre-Sail Conferences, Subject Matter Expert Exchanges (SMEEs) on cutting-edge technologies like medical support, drones, and space, along with ship visits, drills, and friendly sports. - Sea Phase (April 8–11) – Off Kakinada Coast:
Activities included maritime operations, cross-deck aircraft landings, troop movements, and disaster relief tasks. A Combined Coordination Centre (CCC) and a Joint Medical Camp were also set up to simulate real-life emergency responses.
A Stronger Bond for a Safer Future
First launched in 2019, Tiger Triumph aims to enhance military-to-military cooperation, improve joint disaster response, and share knowledge under agreements like LEMOA (Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Agreement).
Tiger Triumph 2025 stands as a milestone in regional peacebuilding and proves the ever-growing commitment of India and the United States towards humanitarian cooperation and disaster preparedness.
