Imran Khan’s Wife Bushra Bibi Reported Missing Amid Crackdown on Protesters in Pakistan

Bushra Bibi, wife of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, has reportedly gone missing following the conclusion of a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest in Islamabad, which called for Khan’s release.

During the protest’s conclusion, PTI held a press conference with key leaders, including Ali Amin Gandapur, but Bushra Bibi’s absence raised suspicions, leading to social media inquiries about her disappearance. PTI leader Maryam Wattu accused that Bushra Bibi had been kidnapped, though other party members did not confirm this claim.

Meanwhile, Ali Amin Gandapur, who had evaded capture, was reported to have left the Blue Area after a government crackdown on Tuesday night. Despite attempts to stop them, he and Bushra Bibi were later seen in Mansehra, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a PTI stronghold.

PTI Ends Protest After Violent Crackdown

PTI announced an end to its protests in Islamabad on Wednesday after a midnight security forces operation left at least four people dead and over 50 injured. PTI, however, claimed the toll was higher, alleging hundreds of its supporters had been killed during the clashes with security personnel.

The crackdown took place in Islamabad’s high-security Red Zone, where protesters had earlier breached barricades. Security forces responded with tear gas and live rounds to disperse the crowd, leading to violent clashes that resulted in casualties, including four security personnel and two PTI supporters.
