Gangajal from Mahakumbh & Tulsi: PM Modi & Tulsi Gabbard exchange Symbolic Gifts

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard in New Delhi, exchanging meaningful gifts. PM Modi presented her with Gangajal from the recently concluded Mahakumbh, where over 66 crore devotees took a holy dip at Triveni Sangam. “I also took the dip. The Gangajal is from the Kumbh,” he said while handing her the pitcher.

As a return, Gabbard presented PM Modi with a Tulsi rosary, signifying her new position. “This is a gift from me and my new role as director. This is from Tulsi ji, a Tulsi mala,” she explained.

Strategic Discussions with Indian Leaders

During her visit, she held key discussions with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on military exercises, strategic cooperation, and defence industrial ties. The Defence Ministry made it clear that “strategic security” is the very cornerstone of India-US relations.

She also met National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and attended a high-level security conclave featuring intelligence leaders from Canada and the UK. The focus was on global security challenges and intelligence-sharing efforts.

Gabbard’s visit to India is a part of her multi-country tour and will end with a speech at the Raisina Dialogue on March 18, a top security forum to which PM Modi extended an invitation.

She had met PM Modi last month during his visit to Washington DC, strengthening India-US relations further.
