Gajendra Singh Shekhawat Showcases India’s Tourism At G20 Culture Ministers Conference

Union Minister for Culture and Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, represented India at the World Travel Mart (WTM) in London and the G20 Culture Ministers Conference. Shekhawat underlined India’s vast cultural heritage and its role in boosting the nation’s economy through tourism.

Bilateral Discussions to Boost Tourism

Shekhawat engaged in discussions with representatives from countries such as Brazil, Germany, France, and South Africa. He emphasized that India’s diverse culture and geography position it as a top global tourism destination.

Chalo India Initiative Gains Spotlight

At the historic Cutty Sark in London, the Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with the Indian High Commission, hosted the ‘Chalo India’ cultural evening. This event showcased India’s vibrant heritage and promoted the Ministry’s new tourism campaign.

Sharing glimpses of the event on X, Shekhawat wrote, “Urged our diasporic Bharateeyas in the UK to act as brand ambassadors of #ChaloIndia and invite their non-Indian friends to witness #NewIndia.”

E-Tourist Visa Program Announced

Shekhawat also announced the introduction of one lakh e-tourist visas under the Chalo India referral program, valid until March 31, 2025. He invited global travelers to explore the grandeur of a developing #ViksitBharat.

India’s Vision for Tourism Growth

With initiatives like Chalo India, the government aims to enhance India’s appeal as a travel destination, contributing significantly to the country’s economic growth and international cultural exchange.
