Suho, the leader of the popular South Korean boyband EXO, delighted fans with a touching gesture during his performance at the K-Wave festival in Mumbai on October 18. K-Wave, known as India’s largest K-Pop festival, celebrates Korean culture through food, music, and entertainment.
During the event, Suho recognized an Indian fan, Ronak Arora, from a chance encounter nine years earlier. Back then, Ronak had asked Suho, who was not yet a household name, to take a picture of him. A video circulating on social media shows Suho warmly addressing Ronak on stage, saying, “Yeah, ah yeah! I remember him! He asked me to take a picture of himself!” This moment prompted enthusiastic cheers from the audience.
Ronak, a radiologist, shared the heartfelt exchange with Suho on Instagram, posting photos and videos from the event. He reflected on the significance of their reunion, stating, “Life comes a full circle for myself and Suho. Nine years later, we saw each other again today! I went to see him setting the stage on fire at his debut concert in India. And what a surprise! He recognized me in the crowd and remembered our previous encounter. It’s a core moment for us.”
In his post, Ronak mentioned, “I told him I was there this time to return the favor and click his pictures and record his performance. It was a wonderful atmosphere with Suho’s performance just lighting up the stage.”
Suho, also known as Kim Jun-myeon, has been a prominent figure in K-Pop since EXO’s debut in 2012. He began his solo career with the mini-album “Self-Portrait” on March 30, 2020, and has appeared in various films and web series, including “One Way Trip” and “The Universe’s Star”. After completing his mandatory military service, he was discharged on February 13, 2022.
