Elon Musk’s White House Office Status Revealed Amid Melania Trump’s Remark on ‘Babysitting Donald

Reports suggest that Elon Musk has been allocated office space in the White House complex, specifically in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, where he is expected to co-lead the “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE) alongside Vivek Ramaswamy. According to The New York Times, Musk’s role within the new Trump administration focuses on reducing government expenditure.

Musk’s Access to Donald Trump

Despite Musk’s growing camaraderie with Donald Trump, he won’t always be in close proximity to the president, as his designated office is adjacent to, rather than inside, the White House. The extent of Musk’s access to the West Wing remains unclear but has reportedly been discussed with transition officials. It’s also uncertain whether Vivek Ramaswamy will share office space with Musk.

Sources revealed that Musk has already been involved in official government activities, including meetings and at least one international call. DOGE currently operates out of SpaceX offices in Washington, D.C., and Musk is said to be recruiting billionaires, tech leaders, and other influential figures to join the panel.

Musk and Trump’s Growing Bond

Musk’s significant financial contributions to Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign have further solidified their relationship. He has spent considerable time with Trump at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s Palm Beach estate.

A Palm Beach source told PEOPLE, “Melania is glad to have a babysitter for Donald, and she will find some kind of project to team up with him herself if he stays around.” Musk has even been humorously dubbed the “First Buddy” by Lara Trump.

In a move that may strengthen his ties with Trump further, Musk reportedly considered purchasing a luxurious penthouse in Palm Beach’s Bristol building for a record-breaking sum exceeding $100 million. The penthouse was previously owned by the late beauty mogul Sydell Miller.
