Elon Musk Critique Trudeau Leadership Sparks Support From Indians Amid Tensions

Amid escalating diplomatic tensions between Canada and India, Elon Musk’s recent comments criticizing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau have garnered significant attention on social media, particularly among Indian users. Over the past few days, Musk has responded to several posts on X that criticize Trudeau’s leadership, with many Indian users expressing agreement with the billionaire’s views.

Musk made headlines last week when he predicted that Trudeau would be ousted in the upcoming Canadian election, which is scheduled to take place before October 2025. In a post on X, Musk wrote, “He will be gone in the upcoming election,” in response to a user asking for his help in removing the Prime Minister. Musk also reshared a tweet showing a decline in Canada’s GDP per capita under Trudeau’s leadership, commenting simply with a “Wow.”

The billionaire’s comments have sparked a wave of support among some Indian users on the platform. One user wrote, “He (Justin Trudeau) is another woke virus run by Khalistani terrorists. He has no respect anywhere,” while another commented, “We agree with you.” Other users expressed a desire for change, with one saying, “Cannot wait! Trudeau is a disaster!” and another hoping Musk’s prediction would come true in the next election.

Musk has previously criticized the Trudeau government, particularly for its policies on free speech. Last year, he condemned a law requiring online streaming services in Canada to register with the government, calling it “shameful” and accusing Trudeau of attempting to “crush free speech.” In February 2022, Musk compared Trudeau’s response to trucker protests against COVID-19 vaccine mandates to Adolf Hitler, sharing a meme that mocked the Prime Minister’s emergency powers invocation.

Musk’s comments come at a time of heightened political and diplomatic tensions between Canada and India. Relations have been strained by concerns from the Indian government regarding extremism and anti-India activities in Canada, particularly after the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. India has called for action on these issues, leading to the recall of its High Commissioner to Canada.

In recent months, the Indian community in Canada has faced a rise in violence and hostility, with reports of temple vandalism and attacks on individuals. These events have sparked concern among Indian communities and their supporters, many of whom appear to be aligning with Musk’s criticism of Trudeau’s government.

Musk’s outspoken remarks have found a sympathetic audience in India, potentially boosting his popularity among Indian social media users, who continue to rally around his critique of Trudeau’s leadership.
