Elon Musk announced that his xAI’s chatbot, an artificial intelligence entity, Grok 3 will go live with a live demonstration on Monday at 8 p.m. Pacific time (0400 GMT Tuesday). Musk announced this after signaling that Grok 3 was almost in the stages of completion.
On Thursday, in a video conference at the World Government Summit in Dubai, Musk stated, “Grok 3 has very powerful reasoning capabilities, so in the tests that we’ve done thus far, Grok 3 is outperforming anything that’s been released, that we’re aware of, so that’s a good sign,” He also added, “At times I think Grok 3 is scary smart.”
The new AI system, having learned on artificial data, can read through its mistakes and guarantee reasoning coherence. The remarks from Musk follow after he previewed the model’s rollout last week, highlighting the prospects of Grok 3 in beating current AI models.
The race to develop the greatest AI is constant, with others including China’s DeepSeek vying to develop models that are similar to ChatGPT but less expensive. Musk’s company, xAI, was created as a direct competitor to Microsoft-backed OpenAI and Alphabet-owned Google. Musk’s firm recently attempted to purchase OpenAI assets for $97.4 billion, but OpenAI rejected the offer, stating that the company is “not for sale.”
