Donald Trump To Hold Victory Rally Ahead Of Second Inauguration

President-elect Donald Trump plans to address a “Make America Great Again Victory Rally” in Washington, DC on Sunday one day before the swearing-in into his second term. The rally is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET at the Capital One Arena. It was the first major address by Donald Trump in the nation’s capital since the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot when he had goaded supporters into protesting his election defeat, prompting an attack on the Capitol as lawmakers attempted to complete the certification of his loss. He has vowed to pardon many of the more than 1,500 people charged in connection with the incident.

The rally would be a warm-up to how Trump is likely to start his second term, it might suggest his political and diplomatic tactics. In the past couple of weeks, Trump has got the world raising an eyebrow in his statements on taking over Greenland, Panama Canal, and annexing Canada.

The speech will occur in the wake of several high-profile guest speakers including Elon Musk whose donations now are over $250 million to the Trump campaign to make him one of Trump’s biggest allies. Other notable guests at the event will include Vice President-elect JD Vance, UFC CEO Dana White, conservative activist Charlie Kirk, and commentator Megyn Kelly. Testimony, not speculation, on how Trump plans to follow through on banning the app in the United States, is what TikTok Chief Executive Officer Shou Zi Chew is expected to testify about.

Musical performances will be by Kid Rock, The Village People, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Lee Greenwood.

On Sunday, he will lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery and then address supporters at a dinner in Washington.

Meanwhile, President Joe Biden plans to travel to Charleston, South Carolina, to honour Martin Luther King Jr Trump’s inauguration will take place inside the rotunda of the Capitol at noon ET Monday, and there will be 25,000 law-enforcement personnel there to secure the ceremony.
