US President Donald Trump made a rare appearance at the Justice Department on Friday, where he vowed to expose those involved in prosecuting him in various criminal cases.

Trump Vows to Expose Prosecutors

Speaking at the Justice Department’s headquarters—an institution that had recently prosecuted him—Trump called for his political adversaries to be jailed. He promised to remove corrupt individuals from the government and reveal their misconduct.

“We will expel the rogue actors and corrupt forces from our government. We will expose, very much expose their egregious crimes and severe misconduct,” he declared.

Blaming Biden for Afghanistan Withdrawal

Trump criticized the Biden administration’s withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021, calling it “the most humiliating time in the history of our country.” He insisted that those responsible should face legal consequences.

“The people who did this to us should go to jail. They should go to jail,” he stated.

Accusations Against the Justice Department

This visit marked the first time in a decade that a U.S. president addressed the Justice Department. Trump accused the Biden administration of weaponizing the department against him.

“Our predecessors turned this Department of Justice into the Department of Injustice. But I stand before you today to declare that those days are over, and they are never going to come back,” he asserted.

As the nation’s chief law enforcement officer, Trump pledged to hold individuals accountable for what he called past abuses.

“So now, as the chief law enforcement officer in our country, I will insist upon and demand full and complete accountability for the wrongs and abuses that have occurred,” he added.

Targeting Prosecutors and Officials

Trump named several prosecutors and officials involved in cases against him, calling them “scum.” He argued that the Justice Department needed reform and had already begun dismissing prosecutors who pursued legal action against him.

His administration removed employees from special counsel Jack Smith’s team, which had investigated election interference and classified document cases against him. These cases were dropped after Trump took office since a sitting president cannot be indicted.

Additionally, senior officials requested lists of employees involved in the January 6 Capitol riot investigation. Prosecutors working on that case were also dismissed, according to the Associated Press.

Restoring Justice in America

Trump ended his speech by promising to restore fairness in the justice system.

“It’s going to be legendary. And going to also be legendary for the people that are able to seek it out and bring justice. We will restore the scales of justice in America, and we will ensure that such abuses never happen again in our country,” he said.
