Donald Trump formally entered the Capitol Rotunda as the 47th President of the United States. He walked into the area to thunderous applause and shouts of “USA! USA!” from the gathering. Trump was flanked by JD Vance, who will become vice president upon taking the oath of office, and across from former President Joe Biden.
JD Vance Arrives for Vice Presidency Oath
Just minutes after Trump’s arrival, JD Vance entered the Rotunda to take his oath of office as vice president. He was followed by the Republican and Democratic leaders of Congress, in what promises to be a day of historic importance in American politics.
The swearing-in ceremony is expected to confer the presidency officially on Trump, with Vance taking the position of vice president to him, along with other politicians who will also be present during the ceremony.
