Ankara Aerospace Headquarters Targeted in Terror Attack; Casualties Reported

On Wednesday, Turkey reported a deadly attack at the headquarters of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS) near Ankara, where a loud explosion and gunfire were heard.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated on X, “A terrorist attack was carried out against the TUSAS facilities in Kahramankazan, Ankara. Unfortunately, we have martyrs and injured people.”

The exact cause of the explosion and the following gunfire remains unclear, though some media outlets suggested it might have been a suicide attack. Emergency services have been dispatched to the scene, according to state-owned Anadolu Agency.

Television footage displayed a damaged gate and indicated a clash occurring in a parking area nearby.

TUSAS is a key player in Turkey’s defense and aviation sector, responsible for projects like KAAN, the nation’s first national combat aircraft.
