2024 US Presidential Election: Obama Urges Americans to Vote—“This Election Will Be Close” | WATCH

On Election Day, former President Barack Obama took to social media to urge Americans to vote for Kamala Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz. In a video message shared on X (formerly Twitter), Obama emphasized that the upcoming presidential race is expected to be “close.”

A Close Race Ahead

Obama highlighted the significance of each vote, stating, “Folks, this election is going to be close. In some states, just a handful of votes in every precinct could decide the winner.” He encouraged voters to take action: “So, you need to get out there and vote.” He stressed the importance of mobilizing friends and family, saying, “Tell your family, talk to your neighbors, make a plan, go to the polls with your friends, and vote.”

Share Your Voting Stickers

In his message, Obama also encouraged voters to share photos of their “I Voted” stickers on social media. “And once you do, I want to see your voting sticker. I’ll be sharing your posts throughout the day. Let’s get out there and win this thing!” he added. Throughout the day, he engaged with voters by sharing their stories and thanking them for making their voices heard.

Conclusion

With the voting currently underway, Obama’s call to action serves as a reminder of the critical role every individual plays in the electoral process. His support for Harris and Walz reflects the Democratic Party’s efforts to rally voters and emphasize the importance of participating in this pivotal election.
