Who Is Turki Alalshikh? The Saudi Royal Offers A $700M Deal To Mike Tyson For A Rematch With Jake Paul

Echoing the frustration many felt during the Mike Tyson and Jake Paul fight at AT&T Stadium in November, a Saudi Royal has proposed a hefty incentive to bring them back into the ring. Turki Alalshikh, head of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, has offered Mike Tyson $700 million if he defeats Jake Paul in a rematch.

According to FTTV Boxing, Alalshikh announced the massive reward for Tyson if he can win this time. Tyson earned $20 million from his previous fight with Jake Paul—a considerable sum for a boxer of his age. However, if Tyson wins this upcoming bout by knockout within three minutes, the prize would make him one of the wealthiest boxers in the world.

Turki Alalshikh, also known as Turki Al-Sheikh, is a prominent Saudi Arabian adviser at the Royal Court and holds the rank of Minister. He is currently the Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA). As head of the GEA, Alalshikh has played a key role in organizing major cultural and sporting events in Saudi Arabia, including international artist concerts and high-profile boxing matches.

In the fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, Tyson earned $20 million, while Jake Paul made a staggering $40 million from the event, contributing to the total prize purse of $80 million. Despite Tyson winning the first few rounds, he ultimately lost to Paul after being unable to close the distance and secure a win.

The match, which took place on November 15, 2024, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, set a new viewership record, becoming the most-streamed sporting event in history. It attracted over 108 million live global viewers, with a peak of 65 million concurrent streams. Jake Paul won the fight by unanimous decision after eight rounds, with scores of 80-72, 79-73, and 79-73.
