Putin Discusses Global Issues, Calls Pornography a Worldwide Problem

Russian President Vladimir Putin urged creating alternatives to internet pornography, calling it a contributor to “moral decay.” He made these remarks during the annual ‘Direct Line’ event in Moscow, as reported.

Putin Addresses Pornography as a Global Challenge

Putin acknowledged that pornography is a widespread problem, affecting many countries, not just Russia. “This is not only our problem, but also the problem of many other countries,” he said.

He proposed offering more engaging alternatives rather than imposing outright bans. “The answer can be what? In general, you could ban it, but you should always offer an alternative that is more interesting than a porn site,” Putin explained. He added, “So that a person would get in, open a porn site, and say: I’ve already seen this, I want to see something else.”

His suggestions were part of a larger discussion focused on family values and youth-related concerns.

Reflects on Military Actions in Ukraine

Putin also reflected on Russia’s military actions in Ukraine. He admitted it might have been better to act earlier. “Such a decision, which was made at the beginning of 2022, should have been made earlier,” he stated. He stressed the importance of protecting Russia’s national interests.

Comments on Zelensky’s Future

The Russian leader also speculated about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s future. He suggested Zelensky might eventually seek refuge abroad. “He will be supported by the people whose interests he serves today,” Putin remarked.

Highlights Strong Ties with China

Additionally, Putin praised Russia’s strengthened partnership with China. He highlighted joint energy and military projects as examples of mutual benefit. Putin dismissed concerns about Russia’s dependence on China, calling the relationship stronger than ever.

Through his statements, Putin emphasized tackling societal challenges while addressing critical geopolitical issues, showcasing his strategic priorities.
