New Delhi [India], December 16: Anurag Srivastava, the newly appointed Indian High Commissioner to Mauritius, met with President Droupadi Murmu ahead of his assignment. Sharing his gratitude, Srivastava tweeted, “Honoured to call on Rashtrapatiji and receive her guidance as I move into my new role as High Commissioner of India in Mauritius!”
India-Mauritius relations have seen significant activity in recent weeks. On Friday, Vimarsh Aryan, India’s Acting High Commissioner in Mauritius, held discussions with Mauritius Minister of Land Transport, Mahomed Osman Cassam Mahomed. These talks explored ongoing projects and future opportunities in the transport sector.
Highlighting strong maritime collaboration, Commodore V. Singh Rana of the Indian Navy visited Mauritius and met Acting High Commissioner Aryan. The visit coincided with the Commando and Diver Refresher Course for the Mauritius Police Force, conducted from November 25 to December 14.
The High Commission noted, “Partners in the Indian Ocean! Cmde V. Singh Rana’s visit underscores robust India-Mauritius maritime cooperation.”
In another key development, Aryan met with Mauritius Minister of Health and Wellness, Anil Kumar Bachoo, to discuss avenues for collaboration in the health sector. The High Commission described the meeting as “a step forward in the India-Mauritius partnership through health diplomacy.”
Last month, Aryan engaged with students participating in the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) University Student Regional Short Course Programme. Discussions revolved around India-Mauritius bilateral ties and India’s strategic role in the Indian Ocean region.
The High Commission tweeted, “Deputy High Commissioner Vimarsh Aryan interacted with students from the Annual IORA University Programme, fostering awareness about India’s significant partnerships in the Indian Ocean.”
India and Mauritius continue to strengthen ties across multiple sectors, including health, transport, and maritime security, showcasing a partnership built on mutual respect and collaboration.
