Delivery App Magicpin Supports YesMadam Employees Amid Layoff Scandal

At-home beauty services startup YesMadam is under fire after a viral email suggested it conducted mass layoffs based on an internal stress survey. The email, allegedly sent by the HR team, informed employees of the decision to terminate those who expressed significant stress in the survey.

An employee shared a screenshot of the email, claiming she was among over 100 employees let go overnight. The email stated:
“To ensure that no one remains stressed at work, we have made the difficult decision to part ways with employees who indicated significant stress.”

The move sparked widespread outrage across social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn, with many criticizing the company’s handling of the situation.

Magicpin’s Creative Response

Amid the backlash, shopping and delivery app Magicpin stepped in with a creative campaign to support the affected employees. On LinkedIn, Magicpin invited the laid-off employees to apply for roles across various departments.

Madhav Sharma, Creative Director at Magicpin, shared the campaign, which featured two individuals holding signs that read:

  1. “No madam. Stressed employees can perform! Because they care.”
  2. “Magicpin invites laid-off employees to join across departments.”

The post included an email address for resume submissions and was widely praised for its clever marketing and empathetic approach.

Social Media Reactions

LinkedIn users were impressed by Magicpin’s initiative:

  • “This is what you call ‘aapda ko avsar mein badalna.’ Even hiring a few employees would make a big difference,” commented one user.
  • Others applauded the campaign as a brilliant mix of marketing and social responsibility.

Ongoing Controversy at YesMadam

YesMadam has not yet responded to the allegations or the viral email. Many professionals have criticized the company’s use of a stress survey as grounds for termination, calling it an unethical practice.

Magicpin’s Initiative: A Lesson in Crisis Response

Magicpin’s campaign demonstrates how businesses can leverage creative marketing to address real-world issues and build a positive brand image. By extending job opportunities, the company has not only won praise but also turned a sensitive situation into a moment of corporate leadership.
