Bhutan's King and Queen Arrive in India for Official Visit, Received by EAM Dr. S. Jaishankar
King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan, accompanied by his wife, Queen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck, arrived in India today for an official visit scheduled from December 5 to December 6. The royal couple’s visit aims to strengthen the long-standing bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries.
The distinguished guests were warmly received at the airport by India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, marking the beginning of the two-day visit. King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema were greeted with full honors, reflecting the deep ties of friendship and cooperation between India and Bhutan.
The royal visit is expected to focus on enhancing bilateral engagement in areas of mutual interest, including trade, security, and cultural exchanges.
