A 22-year-old woman of Indian descent, Santra Saju, was found dead near Newbridge, Scotland. Her body was discovered on Friday, December 27, 2024, at around 11:55 AM, according to a statement from Scotland Police.

“The police were made aware of a body found in the water near Newbridge,” the statement confirmed. While formal identification is yet to be completed, her family has been notified. “The family of Santra Saju, 22, has been informed,” the statement added.

The police also stated that there were no suspicions surrounding the death. “The death is not believed to be suspicious. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”

Earlier, on December 23, 2024, Scotland Police had announced they were continuing the search for Saju, who had been reported missing from the South Gyle area of Edinburgh. Authorities had released a CCTV image showing Saju last seen wearing a black jacket, earmuffs, and a black mask.

“One week on from our initial appeal, officers are continuing their enquiries to trace Santra Saju, 22, who is missing from the South Gyle area of Edinburgh,” the police had stated.
