The previous Ashok Gehlot government had given Rajasthan the gift of new districts. However, after the new government came, the situation regarding these districts has not become clear. Especially, there is still uncertainty about these three districts, the announcement of which was made before the elections.
Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced the creation of Malpura in Tonk district and Sujangarh in Churu district as separate districts. In addition to this, Kuchaman coming into the Dediwana district was also announced as a separate district. Congress MLA Harishchandra Meena raised questions in the assembly on Wednesday.
He had asked, “The previous government had announced on October 6, 2023, to create three new districts in the state – Malpura, Kuchaman, and Sujangarh. He asked whether the notification for these districts had not been issued yet. Also, he asked whether the government considers issuing a notification for these districts for demarcation, if yes, then when and if not, then why?”
In response, the government stated, “No notification has been issued regarding the declared districts due to the non-receipt of the recommendation from the high-level committee in this regard. Decisions will only be possible after a thorough discussion at the higher level on the formation and demarcation of the declared districts.” Following the directives of the Administrative Reform Department on December 17, 2023, the high-level committee has been terminated with the order issued by the Revenue Department on December 2023. These three districts have not come into existence.
