Haryana’s Olympian boxer Vijender Singh has made politics Ram-Ram. Vijender gave a statement about this on social media (X) at 6 am on Thursday. In which he wrote- “Politics is Ram-Ram Bhai”. Due to his statement, speculations are being made that he has retired from politics.

Earlier, there were speculations that he would contest the Lok Sabha elections on Congress ticket in 2024. In 2019, he took membership of the Congress Party. Vijender Singh also participated in Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra in Haryana. Along with this, he has been continuously targeting the Central Government in his statements.

Earlier, Vijender Singh had announced to contest Lok Sabha elections 2024 on Congress ticket from Bhiwani, Haryana. However, he had said that this decision will be taken by the party. After this, discussions about his joining Aam Aadmi Party also started. Vijender Singh also supported the farmers’ movement.

Boxer Vijender Singh, who has earned worldwide fame with his punches and won Olympic medals for the country, has made this announcement amidst talk of soon leaving Congress. Speculations emerged regarding his imminent association with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Nevertheless, no official confirmation surfaced regarding the timeline of Vijender Singh’s potential entry into Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s party.

In the lead-up to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Vijender Singh ventured into politics. He was fielded by the Congress from the South Delhi seat, experiencing a significant defeat. Hailing from the Jat community, Singh secured a bronze medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and clinched gold at the Asian Games.
