Seven workers from Punjab, Pakistan, were killed, and one was injured in a terrorist attack late Wednesday night, as reported by ARY News and confirmed by police.

The attackers targeted residential areas near Fish Harbour Jetty in Gwadar’s Sarband, where people were sleeping. Seven individuals lost their lives, and one was injured in the shooting.

The victims and the injured person are from Sahiwal, Punjab. They were taken to the hospital, and the police are conducting an investigation to apprehend those responsible.

On May 1, ARY News reported that at least seven policemen were injured when terrorists attacked a police checkpoint in Punjab’s Taunsa Sharif district. This marked the second attack on the checkpoint in two months.

According to police reports, the terrorists aimed their assault at the Jhangi checkpoint in Wahova, Dera Ghazi Khan. Six officers were injured in the attack, as reported by Samaa TV.

The injured policemen were taken to Taunsa Sharif THQ hospital for treatment, according to ARY News. The Punjab Police spokesperson confirmed the attempted terrorist attack on the Jhangi checkpoint.

The spokesperson mentioned that approximately 20 terrorists, armed with grenades, rocket launchers, and laser-light guns, carried out the attack on the checkpoint. They launched their assault from different directions under the cover of darkness but retreated once they ran out of ammunition, as per an ARY News report.

The spokesperson added that the terrorists aimed to seize control of the police checkpoint and hold the policemen captive. Upon receiving intelligence about the terrorist attack, law enforcement agencies promptly responded and secured the area. Following the assault, the vicinity was cordoned off, and an extensive search operation was initiated to apprehend the terrorists.
