Ram Madhav serves legal notice to ex-J&K Governor Satyapal Malik

Senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Ram Madhav on Thursday served a legal notice to former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik for the ‘illegal, malicious, and defamatory’ statements that he gave in which he had levelled charges of corruption against Madhav. Madhav has served as the BJP in-charge of Jammu & Kashmir and North East in the past. He is presently a member of the RSS national executive. The notice, served through lawyer Ayush Anand, states that Malik, in an interview with a Youtube channel that was telecast on 8 April as a part of the conspiracy to defame Madhav deliberately & maliciously, imputed his involvement in some health insurance scheme and alleged that the BJP leader had come to the Governor house early in the morning and asked Malik to sign on a file for which he would get Rs 300 crore when the latter was the governor of Jammu and Kashmir from August 2018 to October 2019.
Through the said notice, Madhav denied that he ever discussed the above stated subject related with health insurance scheme in any context with Malik.
“My client had no such discussion with you for the intended purpose as portrayed by you. The above stated claim made by you is baseless, disgraceful, and utter falsehood. This is nothing but an attempt to influence, albeit maliciously, an ongoing investigation in the matter related with the Hydel Power Project that is being conducted by the CBI,” reads the legal
document.
