NIA Arrests Key Khalistani Terrorist Aide Baljeet Singh in Major Crackdown

In a major breakthrough in the fight against terrorism, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has apprehended Baljeet Singh, a prominent associate of the designated Khalistani terrorist Lakhbir Singh Sandhu, known as Landa. Singh, who is also identified by the aliases Rana Bhai and Balli, was arrested on Thursday in Punjab.

Baljeet Singh, hailing from Badwani district in Madhya Pradesh, is accused of being a significant weapons supplier to Landa’s operatives in Punjab. The NIA reports that the weapons supplied by Singh were used in various terror-related activities, including extortion attempts targeting local businessmen and other individuals. This arrest underscores Singh’s crucial role in facilitating these illegal operations through the distribution of deadly arms.

The case, registered under the reference number RC 21/2023/NIA/DLI, was initiated by the NIA on July 10, 2023, based on its own intelligence. The investigation also led to the arrest of Gurpreet Singh Gopi, another key figure linked to both Landa and another prominent Khalistani terrorist, Satnam Singh Satta. This development has shed light on a broader conspiracy involving several banned Khalistani groups aiming to destabilize India through acts of violence and terror.

The NIA’s probe has revealed that both Landa and Satta are operating from foreign locations, orchestrating their terror activities from abroad to undermine India’s security and stability. The agency’s ongoing investigation aims to dismantle these terror networks and prevent their disruptive activities.

The arrest of Baljeet Singh marks a significant step forward in the NIA’s efforts to combat Khalistani terrorism. It highlights the agency’s commitment to maintaining national security and addressing the threats posed by these extremist groups. The NIA continues to work diligently to uncover and disrupt terror networks, ensuring that such individuals are brought to justice and that peace is upheld.
