The team of detective staff arrested two accused in connection with the incident of theft in the temple of Chandimandir Mata. The accused have been identified as Sukha, son of Vikram alias Beparwah, a resident of Bengala Colony, near the railway station, Kurali ward no. 16, District Mohali, Punjab, and Golu Pukh Vasi Vasi, Bangala Colony, Near Railway Station, Rane Di Mill, Kurali Ward No. 14, District Mohali formed as Punjab. Giving information, ACP Crime Arvind Kamboj said that Inspector Nirmal Singh’s team was successful in arresting the accused who stole from the temple. Police recovered the jewelry stolen from Mata Mandir from the possession of the accused.
According to the information, on January 11, 2024, a complaint was lodged by Shri Mata Mansa Devi Place of Worship Board, Panchkula, stating that persons had committed theft in Chandi Mata Temple the previous night. The stolen items included the mother’s jewelry, 4 donation boxes, a gold crown, a gold necklace, tilak, earrings, a mother’s statue, mother’s jewelry (gold eye, nose ring, bindi crown, and gold patra), a silver lamp, and donations. An amount of about Rs 5 lakh was stolen from the containers. After registering a case based on the complaint at the police station, the police teams interrogated the two accused with the help of investigation, CCTV footage, etc. Other accused involved in the investigation will be arrested soon, and the stolen goods from Mata’s temple will be recovered.
ACP Crime Arvind Kamboj said that about 4 to 5 theft cases have already been registered against the above arrested accused in Himachal Pradesh. Apart from this, other accused involved in this incident will soon be arrested, and some of the property stolen in the theft incident has been recovered from the above two accused.
