KL Rahul out of final Test against England, Jasprit Bumrah back

KL Rahul, whose participation in the final Test match against England was subject to fitness, has been ruled out of the fifth and final match which will be played in Himachal Pradesh’s Dharamsala. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) medical team is closely monitoring Rahul and coordinating with specialists in London for further management of his issue.

Pacer Jasprit Bumrah who was released from the squad for the fourth Test in Ranchi that India won to clinch the series, will join the Rohit Sharma-led team in Dharamsala for the fifth and final match of the five-Test series.

Washington Sundar has been released from the squad. He will join Tamil Nadu – his Ranji Trophy side – for their Ranji Trophy Semi-final fixture against Mumbai, starting 2 March, 2024. He will join the India squad after the completion of the domestic fixture for the fifth Test, if need be.
