In the first ODI aganist New Zealand Shubman Gill hits maiden double century and also becomes fastest Indian ti notch up 1000 runs. Shubman Gill scored 208 runs in 149 runs.

Team India, led by Rohit Sharma, is all set to take on Tom Latham’s New Zealand in the first of a three-match ODI series at Hyderabad in Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, in the first ODI series, all eyes are on Virat Kohli and Ishan Kishan.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that India team star batter Shreyas Iyer had been ruled out of the upcoming 3-match ODI series against New Zealand due to a back injury.

“He will be heading to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for further assessment and management. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Rajat Patidar as a replacement for Shreyas Iyer,” BCCI said.

India will begin the series with the 50-over matches starting on 18 January which consists of three T20Is and three ODIs.

Moreover, against the Sri Lanka series, team India thrashed the series, in which star batter Virat Kohli showed an extraordinary performance.
