Amid the ongoing peasants’ agitation, an emergency meeting core committee of Bhartiya Kisan Union (Chadhuni faction) was met at the residence of Karm Singh Mathana, State Exicutive President, under the chairmanship of Gurnam Singh Chadhuni, National President of BKU in a bid to have talks pertaining to prevailing scenario on February 14. In this row, Gurnam Chadhuni who had refrained himself from the farmers agitation so far hinted at extending support and joining hands with the farmers staging protest at border areas adjoining to Punjab. Divulging more details, he said that the detailed discussion held regarding the ongoing peasant movement and state government’ disgracefully and casual approach towards agrarian community’s prolonged demands and in view of this, he is committed for the fulfillment concerns of the agitating farmers and condemns the inhuman and unconstitutional methods being adopted by the government to crush the movement.
Further he said, since the farmers are facing problems at several front and have been left in a state disparity by the ruling faction, the Central government is required to come timely meeting the demands of farmers sitting on agitation across the country. Despite the tall claims of the government, the scenario remains unchanged and the government is treating the farmers like soldiers of another enemy country and is snatching away the right to free movement from the farmers by putting nails, walls and barricades on the roads.
He further said that on 15th February at 11 am, an emergency meeting of the office bearers of the organization has been called at the central office of BKU Chadhuni village in which the current situation of the movement will be discussed and the future strategy will be mulled over.Apart from National President Gurnam Chaduni, Executive State President Karm Singh Mathana, Media Incharge Rakesh Bains, State Spokesperson Prince Waraich, Youth State President Advocate Vikram Kasana, Krishna Kalal Majra were remained present in the Core Committee meeting held on Wednesday.
