Dhruv Jurel’s “Real MVPs” are two people

Dhruv Jurel, the new Indian wicketkeeper-battsman sensation, posted a photo of himself and his parents on social media on Friday, referring to them as the “real MVPs” of his life. Jurel posted a photo of himself and his parents along with the “Player of the Match” trophy he received in Ranchi during the fourth Test match against England on his Instagram account.

Jurel referred to his parents as his true “most valuable players” and expressed gratitude for their support during his cricket career. Jurel captioned his image, calling them the “real MVPs of my life.”

In the third Test at Rajkot, Jurel made his Test debut, striking a crucial 46 from 104 balls which India won by 434 runs.

The team’s victory in the fourth Test was largely due to Jurel’s contribution. His century of ninety runs and his 76-run partnership with Kuldeep Yadav in the opening inning helped India escape a precarious scenario and cut England’s lead to just 46 runs.

Later, he scored 39* in the second innings, and his combination with Shubman Gill enabled India to chase down 192 runs in a tight chase despite losing wickets quickly. In just his second Test, he was named “Player of the Match” for his efforts.

Jurel has been candid about his parents’ contribution.
