Delhi Horror: Theft At Anjali’s Home, Family Claims Friend’s Role

A theft was reported on Monday from the house of Anjali Singh, who perished horribly on New Year’s Day after being dragged beneath a car for several kilometers after it struck her scooty.

An LCD TV was reportedly one of the things stolen from Anjali’s family’s home in Karan Vihar, according to the family members. In addition, they said Nidhi, a friend of the victim, was behind the theft.

Speaking to ANI, Anjali’s sister said on Monday morning, “Our neighbours first informed us about the theft around 7.30 am in the morning. When we came here, we found the lock to be broken. The LCD TV and other household items, stacked under the bed were missing. The television is new. It has been two months since we purchased it.”

Another family member asked, “Why was there no police yesterday in front of the house? Police had been there for the last 8 days but was yesterday no one was there. We feel, Nidhi is behind the theft.”

Police said that the investigation is ongoing. Police also reported that the five accused arrested in the Sultanpuri hit-and-run case have admitted that they were aware that the woman was trapped beneath their grey Maruti Suzuki Baleno but continued to drive out of fear.

According to an officer with knowledge of the situation, it was noted in the disclosure made by the accused, which is what led to the addition of section 304 of the IPC (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) to the case.

However, the accused’s statement to the police is not admissible in court. Amit Khanna, Deepak Khanna, Krishan, Mithun, and Manoj Mittal are the five accused who are now being held in police custody for four days. They have been arrested for a number of offences, including reckless driving on public property and culpable homicide that does not constitute murder.

According to the Delhi Police, Ashutosh and Ankush Khanna were involved in protecting the five accused, hence they were arrested two more times. Ashutosh was taken into custody from Budh Vihar in northwest Delhi while Ankush turned himself up at the Sultanpuri police station. Amit, Krishan, Mithun, and Manoj collected the car on December 31 from Ashutosh, according to the authorities. He attempted to aid them in getting away with the crime following the occurrence and provided false information to the police in an effort to sway the investigation. Anjali Kumari, the victim, and her friend Nidhi were riding a scooter back from a New Year’s Eve celebration early on January 1 when they were struck by a Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
While Anjali’s body got entangled in the car’s undercarriage as it dragged her for at least 14 kilometres, Nidhi slid to the side.
