As the political calendar inches closer to the 2024 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Haryana, the Congress party has launched an extensive and meticulous campaign, thrusting senior leaders, notably former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda, to the forefront. Over the next two months, the Haryana Congress Committee has carefully crafted a revised schedule for a series of rallies, demonstrating an active commitment to grassroots mobilization and direct engagement with the electorate.
The strategic alignment of several new programs reflects a concerted effort to address pertinent issues and promote the party’s agenda. Committee Chairman Ashok Arora unveiled the upcoming schedule, highlighting the significance of the party’s public outrage rally scheduled for December 3 in Israna, followed by another in Jhajjar on the 17th. The calendar also includes the Kisan Mazdoor Jan Aakash rally set to unfold in Sirsa on December 24, with subsequent stops in Safidon on the 25th, Hodal on December 31, and Ladwa on January 7. The participation of influential figures, including Bhupendra Singh Hooda, State President Chaudhary Udayabhan, Rajya Sabha MP Dipendra Hooda, and various senior and local leaders, is anticipated at these events.
Ahok Arora emphasized the proactive approach of the Congress, citing substantial public meetings already held in 9 Lok Sabha constituencies, presenting a united front against the opposition. The party’s ‘Jan Milan functions’ have spanned across 5 districts, and the ‘Haath Se Haath Jodo’ campaign has facilitated a reach down to the village, neighbourhood, and booth levels. Now, with a series of public outrage rallies spanning all 90 assembly constituencies, Congress leaders and workers aim to take the party’s policies directly to the people, engaging in extensive door-to-door outreach.
In a pointed critique directed at the ruling BJP-JJP coalition, Arora asserted that the Congress’s public welfare policies have left the coalition without adequate responses. Alleging widespread suffering across all social classes due to the governance of the BJP-JJP, Arora highlighted significant public discontent against the coalition government. Fueled by this sentiment, the Congress has strategically resolved to utilize the rally platform to challenge the existing ruling coalition and position itself as a viable alternative for the upcoming elections.
