Thamma is a Hindi-language romantic horror comedy film directed by Aditya Sarpotdar. It is the fifth instalment in the Maddock horror comedy universe set for a Diwali release. The movie is an Indian vampire(betaal) love story that follows Alok Goyal, a historian turned betaal, who goes against Yakshasan, the evil betaal, who needs to be stopped at any cost. All while managing his relationship with Tadaka, a vampire-woman.

Ayushmann Khurrana as Alok Goyal

Ayushmann Khurrana plays Alok Goyal, a historian who must face Yakshasan, the evil vampire, after being transformed into one out of nowhere. Ayushmann has been recognised for his diverse roles in Hindi cinema like Andhadhun and Dream Girl. In Thamma, he takes on a role that requires him to blend action, comedy and romance.​

Rashmika Mandanna as Tadaka

Rashmika Mandanna plays the role of Tadaka, a vampire-woman from Alok's past, who falls in love with him and supports him in his fight against Yakshasan. Known for films such as Pushpa: The Rise and Animal, Rashmika takes on the challenging character of a fierce vampire-woman in love.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Yakshashan

Nawazuddin Siddiqui portrays Yakshashan, the main antagonist of Thamma. In the movie Yakshashan, the evil vampire, on a mission to wreak havoc on humanity, faces Alok (Ayushmann Khurrana), who is determined to stop him at all costs. Famous for strong performances in Sacred Games and Gangs of Wasseypur, Nawazuddin takes on the fierce and mysterious role in the ultimate battle between good and evil.​

Paresh Rawal as Ram Bajaj Goyal

Paresh Rawal plays the role of Ram Bajaj Goyal, the father of Alok. Ram, who is taken aback by his son's sudden transformation, does everything a concerned father would do, leading to hilarious moments. Paresh bring his signature comic timing to the role along which has been widely appreciated in his movies like Hera Pheri and OMG – Oh My God!.
