The Rajasthan State Transport Corporation is indeed offering a 50% discount on bus fares to women. However, there is an unauthorised collection happening at the Sindhi Camp bus stand. The Chief Manager of the Sindhi Camp bus stand is aware of this collection but is not taking action. The issue is related to the restroom facilities at the Sindhi Camp bus stand. Due to administrative negligence, men are not charged any fees to use the restroom, while women are charged Rs 10.
What’s even more concerning is that those collecting the fees from women don’t provide any receipts. Employees claim that nobody has instructed them to issue receipts. When the Chief Manager of the Sindhi Camp Central Bus Stand was questioned about it, he accepted that Rs 10 was being collected as part of this unauthorised collection. However, when asked about the basis for only charging women for using the restroom, she avoided the question. Even when requested tender documents, she did not provide them.
In this matter, when contacted about the issue, Rajasthan Roadways’ MD Nathmal Didel also avoided giving a direct response. He mentioned that information regarding this matter could only be provided by the Chief Manager. It is worth noting that even high-ranking IAS officers like Nathmal Didel are not taking any serious actions against the unauthorised collections.
