The achievements were unveiled during the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra event at Panchayat Bhorthain North (Baira) in Block Barnoti, district Kathua.
Dr. Jitendra Singh revealed that out of the 500 constituencies in the country, the Udhampur-Kathua Lok Sabha seat stands out for completing developmental works with distinction. The constituency boasts the unique distinction of hosting three centrally-aided medical colleges in the districts of Udhampur, Kathua, and Doda. Additionally, it has emerged as one of the frontrunners in the prompt implementation of welfare schemes.
The Minister received updates from the administration, indicating nearly 100% saturation in agriculture-related schemes like Kisan Credit Card, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, and PM Ujjwal Yojana. The Ayushman Card achieved a commendable 99% target, and there has been a significant acceleration in the pace of implementation for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
Dr. Jitendra Singh noted a positive transformation in mindset and social culture during the 50-day Yatra. He emphasized that the government has shifted from citizens approaching government departments to delivering services directly at the doorsteps of the people. This shift, according to Dr. Singh, has ushered in a transformative work culture.
The Minister applauded the commitment of people’s representatives in delivering services without discrimination based on caste, creed, or religion, fostering positive changes in social attitudes and behavior.
Highlighting specific schemes, Dr. Jitendra Singh discussed the success of PM Vishwakarma Yojana in empowering artisans and craft persons by providing financial assistance and training. Similarly, the PM SVANidhi Yojana has proven beneficial for street vendors, offering loans up to ten thousand rupees to set up businesses and live with dignity.
In conclusion, Dr. Jitendra Singh acknowledged the evolving role of street vendors as a crucial component of society, underscoring the success of the government’s initiatives in uplifting various sections of the population.
