As part of the ongoing “UAE Stands with Lebanon” campaign, the UAE has sent another batch of humanitarian supplies. This time, two planes arrived in Lebanon carrying 80 tonnes of essential aid. The supplies were sent by Her Highness Fatima bint Mubarak, the Mother of the Nation, who is the Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.
This second shipment adds to the 160 tonnes already sent. In total, four relief flights have delivered vital supplies to Lebanon. These efforts are in line with the UAE’s commitment to assist Lebanon during its ongoing crisis. The relief missions follow the directives of UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with support from Vice President Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, the UAE’s Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, emphasized that the UAE remains committed to providing aid to those suffering from conflict and disasters. “These efforts are part of the legacy of our founder, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan,” he stated. He further confirmed that the UAE will continue to reach out to those affected by the crisis in Lebanon.
The latest shipment contains essential supplies specifically for mothers in Lebanon, addressing their urgent needs. Fatima bint Mubarak is known for her dedication to empowering women in times of conflict. Al Shamsi praised her efforts, saying, “Her Highness is renowned for her commitment to empowering women during conflicts and crises, and providing support in a variety of fields worldwide to ensure that they obtain their basic needs.”
The UAE will continue its relief efforts in Lebanon, partnering with international organizations to provide food, medical assistance, and shelter. This ongoing support aims to help people recover and rebuild stability and security in the region.
The first batch of aid, weighing 80 tonnes, arrived in Lebanon in late October.
