In a recent operation, the Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Mumbai Police apprehended two individuals from Tamil Nadu in Bandra, Mumbai, on charges of carrying two kilograms of hash oil valued at Rs 2 crore in the international market. The accused had allegedly arrived in the city with the intent of supplying the hash oil to local peddlers, who, in turn, would distribute it further. Hash oil, also known as cannabis oil, is a resin extracted from THC or hashish and is commonly used in liquid form.
DCP Prakash Jadhav reported that officers patrolling KC Road in Bandra observed two suspicious individuals in the area, leading to their arrest. The arrested individuals were identified as Anand Kumar G (37) and Udhay Deivendran (39), both hailing from Madurai, Tamil Nadu. The police discovered hash oil in their possession during the arrest.
An official shared that Kumar, a BSc student, engaged in the business of supplying soaps, face wash, and skincare products. On the other hand, Deivendran, who holds a diploma in civil engineering, was involved in construction work with his father, a labor contractor.
The police investigation revealed that the duo had traveled from Bangalore to Mumbai to sell the hash oil. DCP Jadhav stated, “We are interrogating the accused to find out where they procured the hash oil from. While they claim they got it from Visakhapatnam, we are verifying their claims.”
