In a significant development, police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district have invoked the Public Safety Act (PSA) against two individuals for their purported involvement in anti-national activities.

The accused, identified as Danish Parvaiz and Abrar Ahmad Wani, both residents of Sumlar Bandipora, have been taken into custody, confirmed police sources. The decision to apply the PSA underscores the gravity of the allegations against the individuals, reflecting the authorities’ commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region.

Following their apprehension, Parvaiz and Wani have been transferred to Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu, where they will remain detained pending further legal proceedings.
The use of the PSA, a preventive detention law, indicates the authorities’ resolve to curb activities deemed detrimental to public order and national security.

Further details regarding the specific nature of the alleged anti-national activities and the evidence supporting the invocation of the PSA are awaited as the investigation progresses.
The swift action taken by law enforcement underscores the state’s determination to uphold law and order while ensuring the safety and security of its citizens in Jammu and Kashmir.
