Two people belonging to the “Namaste Gang” have been detained following an encounter in the Shahdara area of Delhi.
The two were accused in a robbery case that occurred three days ago. One of them has been injured during the encounter and was admitted to the hospital, reported the police.
According to the police, the gang’s members had a unique method for robbing walkers. They used to greet the morning walkers with “Namastey” before looting them.
On Tuesday , three incidents of looting took place in Shahdara district. The two detained have been identified as Afzal (32) and Sahid (43).
The police stated, “Afzal and Shahid were held following the encounter. They used to greet their targets with ‘Good Morning’ before and after looting them.”
Having infirmation that they operate in the Vivekanand College region of Vivek Vihar, Shahdara cops set a trap at 4:00 am on Thursday. The police tried to pull them over this morning when they were approaching from the Ghaziabad side, but they opened fire in an attempt to flee. After that, the police also started shooting.
These two “Namastey Gang” members have currently been detained by the police, and they claim that others are active in the neighbourhood and will be apprehended shortly.
