Two individuals have been apprehended for their alleged involvement in the gang-rape of a 19-year-old girl in Dombivali, located in Thane district. A police official confirmed the arrests on Thursday, shedding light on the harrowing details of the case.
According to the Vishnu Nagar police station official, the victim and her live-in partner had visited a friend’s residence on September 17 to collect some items. It was during this visit that the two accused were present.
“The two accused sent the teenage girl’s live-in partner to purchase liquor and then proceeded to gang-rape her. After she left the location, the two accused continued their assault by raping her in an autorickshaw,” the official reported.
The arrests were made in Dombivali and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, with Inspector RN Khilare confirming the detention of the two suspects. Further investigations into the case are underway to ensure that justice is served.
