In a significant development, the Narpoli Police apprehended two individuals on Wednesday in connection with the abduction and murder of a 16-year-old boy in Bhiwandi. The incident, fueled by an old rivalry, saw the victim subjected to a brutal attack. Meanwhile, five other suspects remain at large, as per police reports.
The arrested individuals are Ayush Virendra Jha, 19, and Manoj Narayan Tope, 19, both residents of Brahamanad Nagar in the Kamatghar area of Bhiwandi.
The tragic incident unfolded in Kalher village on November 25, involving the kidnapping, beating, and fatal assault on the victim with a sharp weapon, resulting in deep abdomen and neck injuries.
Bharat Kamat, Senior Police Inspector at Narpoli Police Station, stated, “Upon receiving information from a local informant about Tope and Jha’s involvement in a murder, we apprehended them in the locality. During interrogation, both confessed to luring the victim to a party in the Retibunder area in Kalher. An altercation erupted over an old rivalry, leading to a scuffle. The accused, along with five others, attacked the victim with sharp weapons. Subsequently, they buried him in nearby land and attempted to conceal the crime.”
