Erdogan’s shift may also reflect Turkey’s disenchantment with Pakistan, particularly due to issues surrounding illegal Pakistani immigrants in Turkey. Erdogan’s previous remarks on Kashmir led to significant diplomatic consequences, including the cancellation of Modi’s visit to Turkey and a halt to defense deals between India and Turkey.
