Donald Trump delivered his first speech since the recent assassination attempt by a 20-year-old man, which resulted in a slight injury to his ear and the tragic death of a bystander at a rally last weekend. He said he will win in an “incredible victory” at the US presidential election in November, as he delivered the headline speech of the Republican National Convention on Thursday.

Donald Trump declared he would secure an “incredible victory” in the upcoming US presidential election in November, as he delivered the keynote speech at the Republican National Convention on Thursday.

Trump accepted the Republican presidential nomination from a party that was exhilarated by his survival of an assassination attempt and encouraged by the apparent collapse of Joe Biden’s reelection campaign.

The crowd at Republican National Convention in Milwaukee erupts into cheers and chants for him, as former US President Donald Trump accepts the nomination for the President of the United States.

Former US President and candidate for the upcoming US presidential elections, Donald Trump recounted the recent assassination attempt on his life. He expressed his gratitude to the American people for their overwhelming support following the attempt at his rally on Saturday. He mentioned that the assassin’s bullet came dangerously close to taking his life, missing by just a quarter of an inch. He felt “very safe” due to his belief in divine protection, despite the attack causing injuries and a fatality. He emphasized his narrow escape, noting that if he hadn’t moved, the bullet would have struck him.

Trump expressed gratitude, attributing his survival to “the grace of almighty God,” and linked his message to the convention’s theme of divine intervention. He stressed his vision to lead all Americans, not just a portion, while still wearing a bandage over his ear.

During his speech at the Republican National Convention, the crowd chanted “USA,” with warm-up acts including Hulk Hogan and Tucker Carlson. Trump, now 78, is buoyed by Republican support despite past scandals and legal issues.

In contrast, Joe Biden faces internal pressure to step down due to health concerns. Senior Trump advisor Jason Miller noted that Biden’s potential withdrawal wouldn’t change Trump’s position. Trump’s family supported him at the event, with his wife Melania, who has been mostly absent, receiving applause but not speaking.
